If this isn’t proof enough that Vista did not rip-off Mac OS X, I do not know what else to say to convince you!
Microsoft’s AntiSpyware Tool Removes Internet Explorer:
Many Microsoft Windows users who downloaded the recently released AntiSpyware program from Microsoft, or had it installed through an automatic Windows update, woke up to a surprise. Unintentionally, the heuristics of the software detected Internet Explorer as spyware, and removed the program from their systems.
Now ain’t this funny? I mean, for such a huge company as Microsoft doing such a clumsy beta test that renders their users without their beloved Internet Explorer, their own creation, what does it say of their future products? They should have tested it in-house before deploying it but no, they’d rather let you beta test it fully. I wonder what the “released version” of Vista will do to your computers. Someone is getting fired, imho. Hehehe…

Larry Bodine, a marketing consultant for a law firm in Illinois, is dumping his Mac and returning to Windows. Reading his commentary reveals that a lot has to be learned. It is not as simple as switching but as with every change, you have to be patient to learn the ropes.
“The signs of doom were there on day one, but I ignored them. I pretended that I liked the one button mouse. I quickly started using click + command keys (and other keyboard shortcuts). I really missed the little scrolling wheel in the center of the mouse.”
Then get a multiple buttoned mouse!
The multiple clicking to accomplish simple tasks was a constant annoyance. Things I could do with a PC in two keystrokes took four or five clicks with the Mac. To do a “fast print” required clicking File, Print, find Copies & Pages, click Paper Type/Quality, click Normal and finally clicking Fast Draft. And there was no way to leave the setting as the default. I had to do it manually every time.
Strange. How come my setup requires only two clicks?
Doing a simple screen capture was an immense chore. On a PC you just press Alt and tap PrtScr. With the Mac I had to download and launch special programs to accomplish this simple task.
Obviously nobody taught him the Shift-CMD-3 and Shift-CMD-4 hot keys or just get the ScreenShot Plus widget!
I didn’t even bother with the Mac’s iCal or Mail, which required (emphasis mine) me to buy an @mac.com address. Instead, I went straight to Outlook for Mac. A lot of the software for Mac — such as AOL for Mac OS X — was dumbed down and missing may features of the current PC versions.
Ohmigosh! He must have been misled about Mail.app and iCal!
For me the killer was the Web browser. Safari simply cannot read Flash. It is, quite simply, a second-rate browser.
What has he been browsing?
I let the repaired shiny Mac sit on the floor for weeks, and instead used my reliable IBM ThinkPad, and rediscovered how much I enjoy it. Wish me luck on selling the Mac.
Good luck! You really do not deserve to own a Mac… maybe Mac users are indeed smarter…

I pity the high school student who will win the Third ASEAN Quiz competition in Malaysia. Imagine, winning 0 cash prize!

If Filipinos have lobat as a new addition to their dictionary, which personally I find lame and stupid, I guess the more geeky Pinoys should rather use the new office slang.
A friend of mine sent me a funny quip about the state of whatever is left of a certain UP project using the above-mentioned slang. Believe me, it really is funny. Unfortunately, I just cannot print it here for s/he might be reprimanded.

I think this is a good image to start with when evaluating a project.

This new version is thought controlled! Hurry, download it now. BTW, only works if you are an intelligent computer user (sorry, no Windows support hehehe).
