Battlestar Gallactica Season 3: Now Available for Purchase

Finally! Several days AFTER the first episode of Battlestar Gallactica aired, iTunes finally made it available online! The promise of providing episodes a day after its first air date seems to be that – a promise.

I am now downloading the first episodes whilst I continue wishing that iTunes will bring back the first episode of Heroes along with a Season Pass. Oh well…

My “First” iTunes Movie

Thanks to my friend, Joel, for his iTunes Gift Certificate (thanks, bro!), I got my iTS credit replenished and have bought the first iTunes Movie, The Great Raid. It is 1.42GB in size and will take 4 hours to download at home. Unfortunately, I am now in the office where it will download in 7.5 hours! Pathetic, I know!

The movie features the Philippines and this got me curious. Besides, I know that my dad would love to see this as well (after I transfer it to the iPod).

Will let you know it goes… cannot wait to head home for faster internet connection.
PS. Well, technically the first one was the ‘High School Musical’.

Browncoats are alive!

If you are not one of us, you are against us! Hehehe… watch the Firefly/Serenity documentary, Done the Impossible, and you’ll know what I mean. I am watching it as I type this and believe me, this is the internet’s own version of People Power. If you do not what it is about, I pity you – you are missing a lot! This is one of the greatest sci-fi production ever!

The Video CD of Serenity, the movie, is available locally. I am not sure if the Firefly series DVD is available, though. I got both from Amazon and love it.

If you know where to get those awesome shirts, please let me know… specially if they ship internationally!

I wonder – how many browncoats are there in the Philippines? Stand up and be counted!

Heads-up: DivX for Mac

If you are fond of viewing movies and TV shows in DivX format, this is definitely good news. Although I use VLC to view DivX files but I want to be able to view DivX files on my QuickTime Pro player as well. I used to be able to do this when with the DivX QT plug-in from Roxio’s Toast but since it is in PowerPC format, the plug-in does not work on my MacBook Pro without making QT Pro run on Rosetta.

Anyway, DivX for Mac comes with the QT plug-in which works perfectly well. I have not tried encoding yet since Toast supports DivX encoding “natively” — not enough incentive for me to buy the US$20 Pro version.
